The 2 receptionists/staff were very pleasant, helpful and friendly from arrival to departure. The room and on suite were clean, spacious and very well equipped for a long or short-term stay.
The choices for breakfast were plentiful and to a high standard, the breakfast room was very well laid out and had a very nice view overlooking the bay.
Would recommend.

The apartment has everything you need and nice outside area to sit and fenced so great for the dog. The location was excellent next door to a lovely pub and short drive or walk into st Ives and tesco at the end of the road. Carbis bay and the train into st Ives from there is worth a visit.

We had a 'Bay View' room, but the window looking over the Bay was 'sprung', so there was just condensation and we couldn't see anything. Frankly this was very disappointing as we had paid for a Bay View room but didn't get a proper view. I wish I had pointed this out when we checked out as I feel we should have had some money back as a result. Also, there were no proper lights in the room, so we couldn't read in bed. Also, why do English hotels insist on double quilts? These are unheard of on the continent - people have their own quilts - for goodness sake Harbour View catch up with the times!

The property I booked was outside the town of St Ives in a place called Consol. However, was advertised as being in St Ives. There was builders rubble in the parking space. I was told that my 'private entrace' was through the french windows of the property and I would not, as a single traveller, have felt secure in such a situation. I did not stay at this property and would be pleased to receive a refund please.

What a picturesque town with outstanding natural beauty and so much to see in the way of art and ceramics. It does get very crowded during holiday times so I would recommend going out of season. Highlights include the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Studio, the various galleries and the beaches. The walking could be difficult for anyone with limited mobility but there are ways around that in terms of getting transport. A really stunning spot. Plenty of excellent places to eat from beach cafes to independent bakeries and coffee shops to fish restaurants. It seemed that everywhere was very dog friendly too and many visitors were there with their dogs.

I’ve been coming to St Ives for 50 years so I’m slightly biased but it is a beautiful place with 5 beaches. Numerous good places to eat. Lovely little shops with different crafty bits in. Mostly flat when you are in the town area. Good location for exploring more of Cornwall if needed but plenty to see and do in St Ives.
Thurlestone House is an old church building converted many years ago into a hotel. It is now an extremely well run Guest House by John and Linda who really make you feel like a special guest. We had a warm welcome from John whose local knowledge was really useful. Exceptionally clean and comfortable room. Lovely walk into St Ives along the cliff path and also on a good bus route. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order from a quite sophisticated menu. Parking is a bit tight but we thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Carbis Bay.
Superb quality of everything. The attention to detail in making this a perfect, warm, welcoming home away from home is unparalleled in most places. Perfect for staying in on rainy days with beautiful views of the harbour, utterly comfortable mattress and inviting living space. I am a fussy traveller and was delighted with the comfortable luxury that was Manderley Penthouse. Massive thanks to the owners for creating such a wonderful haven to relax and rejuvenate in.
The location is absolutely stunning and the hotel and spa is 5*
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
They went above and beyond to make our stay feel special.
We had a gluten free breakfast hamper delivered to our cabin.
The hotel deck is the perfect place for a cocktail and so is the Ugly Butterfly restaurant and bar.
Carbis Bay train station is a short walk and for £1 you can see more of the beautiful coastline as you ride along into St. Ives.
The hotel location was absolutely ideal for us as we tried making a trip from Derbyshire via train and left the car for a change. The hotel was right there above the station, this really worked!
Our room was comfortable too and I've got to say that the staff were exceptionally helpful. We actually discussed, at the desk, a return visit for September.
Hopefully we shall be back at The St. Ives bay Hotel very soon.
Whoever conceived and decorated this hotel had exquisite taste. The bedroom and restaurant were lovely spaces to be in, and to look out of at the incredible view. Breakfast gets a special mention. It is far superior to a buffet: you just get given a comprehensive a la carte menu and order whatever you want. As for the staff: what a team the management has assembled!
The hotel is surrounded by beautiful grounds with an excellent view surrounding it,the hotel itself was very well decorated and clean . The are 2 restaurants on site they where both very welcoming and the staff where very friendly, the food was excellent in the evening, the lemon possset was amazing. The hotel was very quiet .
It was adequate, no frills accommodation. I suppose you don’t visit Cornwall to stay at the accommodation?
There was a lovely woodland walk which was beautiful in the evening sunshine and you will be a short car journey away from Saint Ives or the bus leaves hourly. It was well connected. These were all very positive things
I live in St Ives and occasionally need a comfortable and convenient place for family and friends/ or friends to stay. If there is availability at The Western I would always choose this hotel. Comfortable and friendly - and a venue that does a lot for the local community, not just visitors.
Spectacular location with a sweeping bay window view of St. Ives and the Harbour. Phenomenal view. Caring and helpful host, Pat, will greet you with warmth and charm. Minutes from the Tate and all attractions of town. Highest recommendation.
Very spacious living area. Bathrooms were both great, loved the tub. Very well kitted out in the kitchen. Very good location. Happy to be able to use the washing machine. We found the house to be very comfortable and very nicely decorated.
Tressa and Steve were very welcoming from beginning to end of our stay. Even though it is a bed and breakfast they were always on hand if we needed anything.
everything was immaculate and the breakfast was varied and delicious
staff friendly and helpful. high quality decor, furnishings, comfy beds, complimentary Gin and Sherry in room. excellent spa facilities. general feeling of luxury and personal service with beautiful sea views. tasty food.
Location was close to all the areas of interest in Cornwall, the unit we syayed was cleaned and with everything needed for our four days. Checkin was quick and easy.
Great location and easy parking. Access to the pool and spa at the Carbis Bay Hotel was great.
The restaurant was great and the Sunday Roast was exceptional.
The family that ran the hotel were extremely accommodating and the property and room were stunning. Far exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend.
