We are group of family (6 people) and booked 2 triple rooms which they managed the room to be closed as requested. The triple rooms have 2 levels (2 beds on the first floor and the other one on the second floor) which is really lovely. There are big windows to see the view which is different between first and second floor. The view from the room is beautiful. There are a lot of parking lot available, and we can temporarily park near the building to bring our luggages down first. The checkin and checkout process is easy.
Húsey Hostel & Horsefarm features accommodation 55 km from Egilsstadir. The hostel has family rooms. At the hostel the rooms include a shared bathroom with a shower.

Easy self check-in service. The guesthouse also has a jacuzzi which we made great use of! The decorations in the house itself were very wholesome, lots of Dutch souvenirs which made us feel right at home. :)
Finnstaðir has barbecue facilities and a garden. A hot tub is available for guests. Free WiFi is offered. All units at the guest house are equipped with a seating area and a TV.

We were there for 1 night as a group of 6 people. Wonderful location! It's not in the middle of the town, so that was a big plus for us. Peace and quiet, cats, chickens and sheep around the house, and the best are horses right outside the window! Something fabulous! The house itself is very large, has several rooms, and is very useful. Large kitchen and 2 bathrooms. There was absolutely everything needed for the duration of the stay. We highly recommend staying there in a rural atmosphere, it's beautiful!

This was a great stopping point after driving the eastern Fjords on a Sunday. They had a couple places that were open where we could eat, get gas and groceries. This town was a nice place to stay after driving through many of the lovely villages along the coast and before heading to Husavik. You're also close to Hengifoss and not far from Studlagil Canyon, though we only drove halfway down the road before we gt nervous with the icy road right on the side of a cliff.

We loved the tourist info center there along the lake with the Gunnar Gunnerson museum and restaurant. We had a great buffet meal there. We enjoyed the tourist rest area because the lady there spent time with us as we looked around at the exhibits. It was an unexpected surprise.

Good hotel overall.
Good hotel overall.
Locally, we went to Vik Baths, very good experience.
On our 10 day driving the Ring Road, we had already visited the Blue Lagoon. Vik Baths was an alternative to the Blue Lagoon, well worth visiting.

Practical location. A lot of to explore around the town.
Practical location. A lot of to explore around the town. We were on a short travel and the weather was fine, so we didn't use a lot of services there. We are planning an other travel there because there are so much to do 😀
Spacious, modern, large windows, floor-heating, quietly located nearby a lake.
Every room accessible from outside, and everyone of them with a very pleasant seating area right in front, with half of them with a view of the lake.
Every room with a fridge! Big enough for 2 ltr bottles.
Relatively small hotel, with 16 rooms only.
Breakfast well above average! All fresh, great choice.
Complimentary coffee and tea in the restaurant 24/7.
Supermarkets down town
Very nice and helpful owners, quiet and secluded location by the river, 5min from Egilsstadir and Vok Baths, terasse with a grill outside, just off Rte 1. Cars driving by not causing unnecesary disturbance, since road noise is minimized by trees in front of the cottage. Very comfortable beds. Easy self check-in, towels and bedsheets provided and nicely fresh smell.
The room is a good size and pleasant; don't let the outside or corridors put you off. The breakfast is good, especially the little chocolate muffin things but we avoided the scrambled eggs. Parking is easy, and the hotel is easy to find. Wifi was good. This is a good base for exploring the East Fjords.
The property was a good stopover point for one night. I arrived early afternoon and was able to checkin early. The hotel is right beside the main area of town, the highway and gas station, bank, supermarket. the breakfast buffet was pricey but of good quality and tasted fresh/
This is a hostel not an hotel and is a quality stay for what it is. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. Showers and toilets were close to the rooms and were sufficient in number. The kitchen was was good too. Happy hour from 3 til 7 a bonus.
The owner of this place was amazing and super helpful. We had a really nice stay at this hotel, everything is brand new and clean. Very cosy place to stay right on the ring road trip. Definitely one of the best places during our Iceland trip!
Staff was very friendly, there was confusion between the hostel and hotel regarding the booking. At the end of the day still got what was listed on the site. The woman behind the front desk quickly fixed the issue and was very apologetic.
Very comfortable, warm and clean room with well equipped kitchen and good bathroom
Nice interior: authentic, cosy, vintage
Very nice, hospitable and communicative host
Beautiful location with view on the river, close to Egilsstadir
The breakfast was diverse and great. The guesthouse itself is a bit outside of Egilsstadir and therefore it’s a quiter area - We really liked that! It was also very tidy and clean! We enjoyed our stay there.
The hotel was well located with a great view. The hot tub was very pleasant.
The staff was excellent and paid lots of attention to detail.
The food was excellent.
All around a great experience.
The hotel owner and staff were extremely polite, friendly, and accommodating! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we even got a nice view of the northern lights from our patio :)
