El Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in, templo budista con 1.000 años de historia, ofrece alojamiento de estilo japonés, un bonito jardín y WiFi gratuita. I had so many expectations and Ekoin delivered everything. The temple itself is gorgeous, it is over 1.000 years, but so well kept, just impecable tatamis, garden, paintings, artwork. Also, it is so close to Okunoin cementery...i loved this part of town, so calm, feels like another time. The shared restrooms were a concern before getting there, but they ended up being one of the best of our entire trip - the bath is at the onsen, but is was ok for a day. Also, they provide a guide book to temple etiquette/schedules -just READ IT, do not go to morning service wearing yukata and do not arrive late. The monks are kind enough to let it go, but it is very disrespectful. The food is great, even though we are not vegetarians, we loved shojing ryori! And our favourite part was the morning service and the goma/fire ritual, do not miss it.

高野山 宿坊 大明王院 -Koyasan Shukubo Daimyououin- se encuentra en Koyasan, a 39 km de Kishi Station y a 45 km de Matsushita Park. When we arrived, they welcomed us with tea and a small sweet, which was lovely. Our room was large and looked out to the garden, which was gorgeous. We went in November and the autumnal colours in the garden and the town were absolutely beautiful. In the morning we had the privilege to attend the prayer and we received a blessing. After breakfast it started to snow, so we spent an hour watching the garden slowly turn white, it was magical. The communal toilets were clean and the communal bath was small but comfortable. Because the town is up in the mountains, and the building is all wood and paper walls it was very cold in the corridors, but we had heating in the room and nice thick covers for the night. A highlight of the stay were the dinner and the breakfast. All vegan food, very tasty even for us, who are not vegan or vegetarian. It is very conveniently located to visit Okunoin cemetery, we took part in a night tour, something that we highly recommend. All in all it was a magical stay and I would highly recommend it.

宿坊 光明院 está en Koyasan, a 39 km de Kishi Station y a 45 km de Matsushita Park. Ofrece alojamiento con jardín y wifi gratis, además de parking privado gratis. Hermoso todo, desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos nos atendieron excelente. Me encantó! Sin dudas volveremos!

I have stayed in quite a few places in Japan but this is my favorite for so many reasons: - You are staying in a temple monastery and you can see and feel that everywhere. You are staying in a piece of history. - the graveyard is one minute walking away (I went there three times in different times of the day) - you get a free tour of temple, can attend the morning prayer and a fire ceremony - the staff was super kind and some spoke very good English - I could check in early - the food is something very different than usual - there is an Onsen instead of a traditional shower room (bathing hours are limited see below) - the wifi is good

祇園の宿 杏花 se encuentra en Kioto, a 3 min a pie de Estación de tren Gion Shijo, y dispone de jardín, habitaciones libres de humo y wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Everything was perfect about this hotel. Our room was large but very cute with a nice garden and in a great location. And staff was very helpful. We also got some cool amenities.

El Shirahama no Yado Daigo está situado en Shirahama, a 200 metros de la playa de Shirahama y a 1,2 km de la playa de Ezura, y ofrece conexión WiFi gratuita en todas sus instalaciones. Personal súper amable y atento. Habitaciones muy amplias, cómodas y con camas muy confortables, digo habitaciones porque nos quedamos dos días en este hotel y a la vuelta del Kumano Kodo nos volvimos a quedar otra noche más, con lo que estuvimos en dos habitaciones distintas. La habitación de los osos panda es una monada y la habitación superior es espectacular. Habitaciones con aire acondicionado y bomba de calor. Ducha, wc y lavamanos separados. Hervidor de agua, nevera, secador… Tienes la opción de desayunar en el hotel, arroz, verduras y huevo frito. Desayuno chino. La verdad que nos encantó el hotel y el personal un 10. . Nos comunicamos a través de Google translate. A unos minutos andando de la playa. Hay un montón de restaurantes en la zona. A 6 minutos andando del bus. Hay una oficina de información a un par de minutos.

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. Se encuentra en Kioto, a 15 min a pie de Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, y ofrece servicio de conserjería, habitaciones libres de humo, salón de uso común, wifi gratis... Lugar increíble, comida increíble pero el personal fue lo mejor de la estancia, jamás había sentido tanto cariño por parte de un staff de hotel, se esmeraron en hacer nuestra experiencia memorable, genuinamente se notaba el esfuerzo por hacer de nuestra experiencia única, y lo lograron, por favor vayan a este hotel, no se van a defraudar.
